Description

These Strawberry Shortcake Dessert Bars are soft, buttery, and layered with sweet fresh strawberries and fluffy whipped cream. This easy make-ahead dessert is perfect for spring gatherings, summer parties, or anytime you crave a fresh strawberry treat.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups fresh strawberries, diced
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 2 tablespoons powdered sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Line a 9×13-inch pan with parchment paper.
  3. Mix flour, sugar, and salt.
  4. Cut in cold butter until crumbly.
  5. Add egg and vanilla and form dough.
  6. Press into pan and bake 20–25 minutes.
  7. Cool completely.
  8. Mix strawberries with sugar and lemon juice.
  9. Whip cream with powdered sugar and vanilla.
  10. Spread cream over crust.
  11. Add strawberries on top.
  12. Chill 1 hour before slicing.

Notes

Use ripe strawberries for best flavor. Chill well before slicing. Store covered in refrigerator up to 3 days.
