Ingredients
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 24 chocolate pieces or chocolate kisses
- 1/4 cup sugar for rolling
Instructions
- Cream the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy.
- Add the egg and vanilla extract and mix until combined.
- In a separate bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Gradually mix dry ingredients into the dough until just combined.
- Roll dough into small balls and make an indent in the center.
- Place a piece of chocolate inside and seal gently.
- Roll each cookie lightly in sugar.
- Bake at 180°C (350°F) for 10–12 minutes until edges are set.
Notes
If the dough feels too soft, chill for 20 minutes before shaping. You can substitute dark chocolate or white chocolate. Store cookies in an airtight container for up to 4 days or freeze unbaked dough balls for later.
