These soft & chewy chocolate chip cookies are buttery, gooey, and loaded with melty chocolate chips. Easy to make and perfect for sharing, they’ll quickly become your go-to cookie recipe.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened

  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed

  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar

  • 2 large eggs

  • 2 tsp vanilla extract

  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

  • 1 tsp baking soda

  • 1/2 tsp baking powder

  • 1/2 tsp salt

  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  • Cream the butter and sugars – Beat butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until creamy.

  • Add eggs & vanilla – Mix in eggs one at a time, then add vanilla extract.

  • Combine dry ingredients – Whisk flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt in a separate bowl.

  • Mix dough – Slowly combine wet and dry ingredients.

  • Add chocolate chips – Fold in chocolate chips.

  • Chill dough – Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.

  • Bake – Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Scoop dough onto a lined baking sheet and bake 10–12 minutes.

 

  • Cool & enjoy – Let rest on tray for 5 minutes, then transfer to wire rack.

Notes

For extra gooey cookies, pull them out slightly underbaked.

Use a mix of semi-sweet and milk chocolate chips for richer flavor.

Store in an airtight container for up to 5 days.
