- 1 tablespoon red food coloring
- 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
- ¾ cup powdered sugar
- 2–3 tablespoons milk
Instructions
- Whisk flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking powder, and salt in a bowl.
- In another bowl, mix buttermilk, eggs, melted butter, vanilla, and red food coloring.
- Gently combine wet and dry ingredients until just mixed.
- Heat a lightly greased pan over medium heat.
- Pour batter onto the pan and cook until bubbles form.
- Flip and cook until fluffy and cooked through.
- Whisk cream cheese, powdered sugar, and milk until smooth.
- Serve pancakes warm with cream cheese glaze on top.
Notes
Do not overmix the batter to keep pancakes fluffy. If you do not have buttermilk, mix milk with a little lemon juice. Store leftover pancakes in the fridge for up to 3 days and reheat gently.
