Ingredients
1 cup (230g) unsalted butter, melted and slightly cooled
1 cup (200g) brown sugar
½ cup (100g) granulated sugar
2 large eggs, room temperature
2 tsp pure vanilla extract
2 ¼ cups (280g) all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking soda
½ tsp salt
1 ½ cups (270g) semi-sweet chocolate chips
Optional: flaky sea salt, vanilla ice cream, caramel or chocolate drizzle
Instructions
Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9-inch cast iron skillet or round baking pan.
Mix Wet Ingredients: In a large bowl, whisk together melted butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth. Add eggs and vanilla extract; mix again until creamy.
Add Dry Ingredients: Add flour, baking soda, and salt. Fold gently until combined don’t overmix.
Add Chocolate Chips: Stir in chocolate chips, reserving a few for the top.
Bake: Spread dough evenly in the skillet. Bake 22–25 minutes until golden and set around the edges.
Cool & Serve: Let cool 10–15 minutes before slicing. Serve warm with ice cream or drizzle with chocolate.
Notes
For a gooier center, slightly underbake by 2 minutes.
You can use dark or milk chocolate chips, or a mix of both!
Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
To reheat: warm a slice in the microwave for 15 seconds for that fresh-baked feel.
