Ingredients
1 cup (226 g) unsalted butter, softened
1 cup (200 g) brown sugar, packed
½ cup (100 g) granulated sugar
2 large eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
3 cups (360 g) all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
½ teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
2 cups (350 g) semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a large mixing bowl, cream together butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until fluffy.
Add eggs one at a time, then mix in vanilla extract.
In another bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
Gradually mix dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined.
Fold in chocolate chips with a spatula.
Scoop dough onto baking sheet, leaving space between cookies.
Bake for 10–12 minutes, until edges are golden but centers remain soft.
Cool slightly before serving warm.
Notes
For thicker cookies, add an extra 2 tablespoons of flour.
Don’t overbake cookies continue to set as they cool.
Swap chocolate chips with chunks or mix in nuts for variation.
