- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 tablespoon matcha powder
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C) and line an 8×8 baking pan with parchment paper.
- Mix melted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth.
- Add eggs and vanilla extract and whisk well.
- Combine cocoa powder, flour, salt, and baking powder.
- Fold dry ingredients into the batter and stir in chocolate chips.
- Beat cream cheese until smooth.
- Add sugar, egg, vanilla extract, and matcha powder and mix well.
- Spread most of the brownie batter into the prepared pan.
- Pour the matcha cheesecake mixture over the brownie layer.
- Add small spoonfuls of remaining brownie batter and swirl gently.
- Bake for 30–35 minutes until set.
- Cool completely before slicing into squares.
Notes
Use good-quality matcha powder for the best color and flavor. Allow brownies to cool completely before cutting for clean slices. Store in the refrigerator for up to 5 days. These brownies can also be frozen for up to 2 months.
