Ingredients
- 1 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup white sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons matcha powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 cup white chocolate chips (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C) and line an 8×8 baking pan with parchment paper.
- In a bowl whisk melted butter, brown sugar, and white sugar until smooth.
- Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
- Stir in vanilla extract.
- In another bowl combine flour, matcha powder, salt, and baking powder.
- Fold dry ingredients into the batter gently until just combined.
- Stir in white chocolate chips if using.
- Spread the batter evenly in the prepared pan.
- Bake for 22–25 minutes until edges are set and center remains soft.
- Cool before slicing into squares and serving.
Notes
Use good-quality culinary matcha for the best color and flavor. Do not overmix the batter or the blondies may become dense. Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days or refrigerate for up to a week. Brownies can also be frozen for up to 2 months.
