Ingredients

Scale
  • 500 g lean ground beef
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 1 head butter or romaine lettuce, leaves separated
  • Salt and black pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large pan over medium heat.
  2. Add chopped onion and cook until soft and translucent.
  3. Add garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  4. Add lean ground beef and cook, breaking it apart, until browned.
  5. Season with salt, pepper, and soy sauce.
  6. Finish with fresh lemon juice and remove from heat.
  7. Spoon the beef mixture into lettuce leaves and serve immediately.

Notes

Store the cooked beef filling in an airtight container for up to 3 days. Keep lettuce separate for best texture. You can add chili flakes for heat or swap soy sauce for coconut aminos.
