Ingredients
- 200 g white chocolate
- 120 g unsalted butter
- 2 large eggs
- 120 g granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 120 g all-purpose flour
- 2 tablespoons matcha powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 80 g white chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 170°C (340°F) and line an 8-inch square baking pan with parchment paper.
- Melt butter and white chocolate together in a heatproof bowl until smooth.
- In another bowl whisk eggs and sugar until pale and slightly thick.
- Slowly pour melted chocolate mixture into the egg mixture while whisking gently.
- Add vanilla extract and mix well.
- Sift together flour, matcha powder, and salt.
- Fold dry ingredients into the batter until combined.
- Stir in white chocolate chips.
- Pour batter into prepared pan and smooth the top.
- Bake for 20–25 minutes until edges are set.
- Allow to cool completely before cutting into bars.
Notes
Use high-quality matcha powder for the best flavor and color. Do not overbake the bars to keep them soft and fudgy. Store in an airtight container for up to 3 days at room temperature or 5 days in the refrigerator. You can freeze individual bars for up to 2 months.
