Description
This healthy banana bread recipe is soft, naturally sweet, and made with ripe bananas, whole wheat flour, and honey. Perfect for breakfast, snacks, or a wholesome dessert.

- 3 ripe bananas, mashed
- 2 eggs
- 1/4 cup honey or maple syrup
- 1/3 cup olive oil or melted coconut oil
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 cups whole wheat flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 cup chopped walnuts (optional)
- 1/4 cup dark chocolate chips (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a loaf pan.
- Mash bananas in a large bowl.
- Add eggs, honey, oil, and vanilla extract and mix well.
- In another bowl combine flour, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon.
- Fold dry ingredients into the banana mixture.
- Add walnuts or chocolate chips if desired.
- Pour batter into loaf pan.
- Bake for 50–55 minutes until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Let bread cool before slicing.
Notes
Use very ripe bananas for the sweetest flavor. Store the bread in an airtight container for several days or freeze slices for later.
