Description

This healthy banana bread recipe is soft, naturally sweet, and made with ripe bananas, whole wheat flour, and honey. Perfect for breakfast, snacks, or a wholesome dessert.


Ingredients

  • 3 ripe bananas, mashed
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/4 cup honey or maple syrup
  • 1/3 cup olive oil or melted coconut oil
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups whole wheat flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts (optional)
  • 1/4 cup dark chocolate chips (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a loaf pan.
  2. Mash bananas in a large bowl.
  3. Add eggs, honey, oil, and vanilla extract and mix well.
  4. In another bowl combine flour, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon.
  5. Fold dry ingredients into the banana mixture.
  6. Add walnuts or chocolate chips if desired.
  7. Pour batter into loaf pan.
  8. Bake for 50–55 minutes until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  9. Let bread cool before slicing.

Notes

Use very ripe bananas for the sweetest flavor. Store the bread in an airtight container for several days or freeze slices for later.
