- 500 g ground beef
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 2 carrots, diced
- 2 potatoes, diced
- 1 cup peas
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1 cup milk
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1 pie crust
- 1 egg, beaten
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a large pan and cook the onion until soft.
- Add ground beef and cook until browned. Season with salt, pepper, and paprika.
- Add garlic, carrots, and potatoes. Cook for a few minutes.
- Sprinkle flour over the mixture and stir well.
- Slowly add beef broth and milk, stirring until thickened.
- Fold in peas and thyme, then remove from heat.
- Transfer filling to a baking dish and cover with pie crust.
- Brush crust with beaten egg and cut slits for steam.
- Bake at 190°C (375°F) for 35–40 minutes until golden.
Notes
Let the filling cool slightly before baking for a flakier crust. You can substitute ground turkey or add mushrooms for extra flavor. Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 3 days.
