- 500 g ground beef
- 400 g penne pasta
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 onion, chopped
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- 500 ml tomato sauce
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon dried basil
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- 200 g mozzarella cheese, shredded
- 50 g Parmesan cheese, grated
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 180°C.
- Cook penne pasta in salted water until al dente, then drain.
- Heat olive oil in a pan and sauté onion until soft.
- Add garlic and ground beef, cooking until browned.
- Stir in tomato sauce, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 10 minutes.
- Mix pasta with the sauce and transfer to a baking dish.
- Top with mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.
- Bake for 25–30 minutes until bubbly and golden.
Notes
Let the bake rest for 10 minutes before serving for best texture. This dish can be prepared ahead and baked later. Leftovers keep well in the fridge for up to 3 days.
