Description

Ingredients

  • 3 ripe bananas, mashed
  • 1/2 cup (115 g) melted butter
  • 3/4 cup (150 g) sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups (190 g) all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon (optional)
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts or chocolate chips (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×5 inch loaf pan.
  2. Mash ripe bananas in a large bowl.
  3. Mix in melted butter and sugar.
  4. Add eggs and vanilla extract and whisk until smooth.
  5. In another bowl combine flour, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon.
  6. Fold dry ingredients into banana mixture.
  7. Stir in walnuts or chocolate chips if desired.
  8. Pour batter into loaf pan.
  9. Bake for 50–60 minutes until golden and a toothpick comes out clean.
  10. Cool before slicing and serving.

Notes

Use very ripe bananas with dark spots for the sweetest flavor. Store banana bread in an airtight container for up to 3 days at room temperature or freeze slices for later.
