Ingredients
1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
1 cup brown sugar, packed
½ cup granulated sugar
2 large eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
3 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
2 cups semisweet chocolate chips or chunks
Optional: Flaky sea salt for sprinkling
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
In a large bowl, cream together butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
Beat in eggs one at a time, then mix in vanilla extract.
In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
Slowly add dry ingredients to wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
Fold in the chocolate chips.
Scoop large balls of dough (about ¼ cup each) and place onto prepared baking sheets, leaving space between them.
Bake for 12–15 minutes until golden brown around the edges but still soft in the center.
Let cookies cool on the sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
Optional: Sprinkle warm cookies with flaky sea salt for extra flavor.
Notes
Chill dough for at least 30 minutes for thicker cookies.
Use a mix of chocolate chips and chunks for bakery-style texture.
Cookies can be stored in an airtight container for up to 5 days.
