Description
Chewy chocolate chip pecan cookie bars with buttery dough, gooey chocolate, and toasty pecans. Simple to make, easy to share, and always crowd-pleasing.
Ingredients
2 1/4 cups all purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
1 cup butter, softened
3/4 cup granulated sugar
3/4 cup brown sugar
2 large eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup pecans, chopped
1–2 cups chocolate chips
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
Whisk flour, baking soda, and salt in a bowl; set aside.
Cream butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth.
Beat in eggs one at a time, then mix in vanilla.
Add dry ingredients; mix just until combined.
Fold in pecans and chocolate chips by hand.
Spread dough into a greased jelly roll pan (thin) or 9×13 pan (thick).
Bake 15–17 minutes for thin bars or 25–30 minutes for thick bars, until edges are golden and center looks just set.
Cool in pan, then slice into bars.
Notes
For bakery-style flavor, sprinkle flaky sea salt over the dough before baking. Line the pan with parchment for easy removal. Store in an airtight container up to 4 days or freeze up to 3 months.
