Ingredients
2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
½ teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
1 cup unsalted butter, softened
1 cup packed brown sugar
½ cup granulated sugar
2 large eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
2 ½ cups semi-sweet chocolate chips or chunks
Optional: flaky sea salt for topping
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a medium bowl, whisk flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
In a large bowl, cream together butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until fluffy.
Beat in eggs one at a time, then add vanilla extract.
Slowly mix in dry ingredients until just combined.
Fold in chocolate chips or chunks.
Scoop large dough balls (about ¼ cup each) and place on baking sheet, leaving 2 inches apart.
Bake for 12–14 minutes, until golden on the edges but soft in the middle.
Sprinkle with flaky sea salt (optional). Cool for 5 minutes before serving.
Notes
Chill the dough for 30 minutes before baking for extra thickness.
Use a mix of chocolate chunks and chips for more texture.
Best enjoyed slightly warm so the chocolate is melty.
