Ingredients

  • 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour

  • 1 teaspoon baking soda

  • ½ teaspoon baking powder

  • 1 teaspoon salt

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened

  • 1 cup packed brown sugar

  • ½ cup granulated sugar

  • 2 large eggs

  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract

  • 2 ½ cups semi-sweet chocolate chips or chunks

  • Optional: flaky sea salt for topping

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

  • In a medium bowl, whisk flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.

  • In a large bowl, cream together butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until fluffy.

  • Beat in eggs one at a time, then add vanilla extract.

  • Slowly mix in dry ingredients until just combined.

  • Fold in chocolate chips or chunks.

  • Scoop large dough balls (about ¼ cup each) and place on baking sheet, leaving 2 inches apart.

  • Bake for 12–14 minutes, until golden on the edges but soft in the middle.

  • Sprinkle with flaky sea salt (optional). Cool for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

Chill the dough for 30 minutes before baking for extra thickness.

 

Use a mix of chocolate chunks and chips for more texture.

 

Best enjoyed slightly warm so the chocolate is melty.
