Description

This creamy, tangy, and herb-packed California pasta salad dressing adds the perfect finishing touch to any pasta salad. Made with fresh ingredients and a balanced blend of flavors, it’s sure to elevate your dishes and make them a crowd-pleaser at your next barbecue or family gathering.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup mayonnaise

  • 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard

  • 1 tablespoon white wine vinegar

  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice

  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder

  • 1 teaspoon onion powder

  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, finely chopped

  • 1 tablespoon fresh basil, finely chopped

  • Salt and pepper to taste

  • 2 teaspoons olive oil (optional for extra creaminess)

Instructions

  1. Whisk Together the Base:
In a medium-sized bowl, combine the mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, white wine vinegar, and lemon juice. Whisk until smooth.

  2. Add the Flavorings:
Stir in the garlic powder, onion powder, finely chopped parsley, and basil. Mix well to combine.

  3. Season and Adjust:
Taste the dressing and add salt and pepper to your liking. For a slightly thinner consistency, add the optional olive oil and whisk until smooth.

  4. Chill and Serve:
Cover the dressing and refrigerate it for at least an hour before serving. This allows the flavors to meld together and intensify.

  5. Enjoy:
Toss the dressing with your favorite pasta and vegetables, and enjoy a fresh and flavorful California pasta salad!

Notes

You can adjust the consistency of the dressing by adding more olive oil if you prefer a thinner dressing.

Feel free to make it ahead of time as the flavors develop better after resting in the fridge.

This dressing works great with any pasta salad, but it’s especially delicious with vegetables like cucumbers, cherry tomatoes, and bell peppers.
