Ingredients
- 1 cup unsalted butter
- 1 cup white sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 tablespoons matcha powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 3/4 cup white chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 175°C (350°F) and line an 8×8 baking pan with parchment paper.
- Melt butter in a saucepan over medium heat, stirring until it turns golden brown and smells nutty.
- Pour the brown butter into a mixing bowl and whisk with white sugar and brown sugar.
- Add eggs one at a time and whisk well. Stir in vanilla extract.
- In another bowl, mix flour, matcha powder, salt, and baking powder.
- Fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined.
- Stir in white chocolate chips.
- Spread batter evenly into the prepared pan.
- Bake for 20–25 minutes until the edges set and the center remains slightly soft.
- Allow brownies to cool completely before slicing and serving.
Notes
Use high-quality culinary matcha for the best flavor and vibrant color. Do not overbake to keep the brownies fudgy. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for 3 days or refrigerate up to 5 days. Brownies can also be frozen for up to 2 months.
