Description

These Brown Butter Matcha Brownies combine nutty browned butter with earthy matcha green tea and sweet white chocolate chips. Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons matcha powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 3/4 cup white chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 175°C (350°F) and line an 8×8 baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. Melt butter in a saucepan over medium heat, stirring until it turns golden brown and smells nutty.
  3. Pour the brown butter into a mixing bowl and whisk with white sugar and brown sugar.
  4. Add eggs one at a time and whisk well. Stir in vanilla extract.
  5. In another bowl, mix flour, matcha powder, salt, and baking powder.
  6. Fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined.
  7. Stir in white chocolate chips.
  8. Spread batter evenly into the prepared pan.
  9. Bake for 20–25 minutes until the edges set and the center remains slightly soft.
  10. Allow brownies to cool completely before slicing and serving.

Notes

Use high-quality culinary matcha for the best flavor and vibrant color. Do not overbake to keep the brownies fudgy. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for 3 days or refrigerate up to 5 days. Brownies can also be frozen for up to 2 months.
