- 500 g pasta
- 400 g ground beef
- 300 g mushrooms, sliced
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 tablespoons tomato paste
- 400 g crushed tomatoes
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- Fresh parsley or basil for serving
Instructions
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the pasta until al dente.
- Heat olive oil in a wide pan and sauté the onion until soft.
- Add garlic and cook briefly until fragrant.
- Add ground beef, break it apart, and cook until browned.
- Season with salt, pepper, and oregano.
- Add mushrooms and cook until tender and lightly caramelized.
- Stir in tomato paste and cook for one minute.
- Add crushed tomatoes and simmer for 15 minutes.
- Toss cooked pasta with the sauce, adding pasta water if needed.
- Serve warm with fresh herbs and olive oil.
Notes
You can add a splash of cream for a richer sauce or chili flakes for heat. Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 3 days and reheat gently with a little water.
