Ingredients
½ cup (115g) unsalted butter, melted and slightly cooled
½ cup (100g) brown sugar (packed)
¼ cup (50g) white sugar
1 large egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 ½ cups (190g) all-purpose flour
½ teaspoon baking soda
¼ teaspoon salt
1 cup (180g) semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a large bowl, whisk melted butter, brown sugar, and white sugar until smooth.
Add egg and vanilla extract, whisking until combined.
In another bowl, combine flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add to wet ingredients.
Fold in chocolate chips.
Scoop dough (1½ tbsp each) onto the baking sheet.
Bake for 9–10 minutes, until edges are golden but centers still look soft.
Let cool on the pan for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.
Notes
For chewier cookies, use more brown sugar than white sugar.
Don’t overbake they’ll finish setting as they cool.
Add a pinch of sea salt on top for bakery-style flavor.
Store in an airtight container for up to 4 days.
